Course Objectives
Our workshop is aimed at colorectal surgeons experienced in laparoscopic and/or robotic rectal surgery, and ideally also experienced with transanal surgery, especially TEM and TAMIS.
This 2-day course focuses on the rationale for TaTME and appropriate patient selection.
It will cover all practical aspects required to set up a safe and effective service.
Our TaTME course, who had his first edition in 2015, is unique for in-depth didactic lectures, explanatory videos and hands-on training on simulators as well as on human cadavers (2 trainees per cadaver) provided by internationally renowned experts in the field.
The course is usually run for 8 to 10 delegates and surgeons are strongly encouraged to sign up in teams.
Main Objectives
Understanding rationale, appropriate patient selection, key steps and anatomic landmarks for TaTME as well as the potential pitfalls are essential milestones of a multistep training (encompassing also live cases observations, proctoring and auditing) for the establishment of safe and effective TaTME program.
